The Shelter Movers Compassion in Action Award is presented to a
volunteer who exemplifies the very heart of our mission — showing
extraordinary empathy, dedication, and leadership in service to
survivors of gender-based violence.
This award honours an individual who goes above and beyond
to create safe, supportive experiences for clients and fellow
volunteers alike. Through their compassion, reliability, and
unwavering commitment, they remind us that every act of kindness
has the power to change lives.
This year, we are proud to recognize Linda Motz as our
2025 award recipient.
LINDA MOTZ
From Georgetown to the heart of Toronto, Linda Motz shows
up again and again — bringing calm, kindness, and courage to
every move. With more than 1,400 volunteer hours dedicated to
supporting survivors, Linda truly exemplifies what compassion in
action looks like.
